I am a mother of two, homeschooler and filmmaker living in New York City and have recently started production on a documentary about Homeschooling in the United States — presenting it as a healthy alternative to institutionalized schooling. While the focus will be mainly on homeschooling, the nature of learning and education from historical, statistical, social aspects and more, the documentary will also be covering the history of public schools in the United States and will take a close look at why they are failing us.
I am looking for homeschool families from any state in the US, young and old willing to be a part of the film as subjects. This would entail having a very, very small crew (on average two to three people) in your home or on the road with you to document your lives. The filming will not be too intensive, it will most likely be a week or two every six weeks or so over a total period of 6-12 months.
